Beautiful, Powerful Accent Lighting, Right on Target

Lighting with Precision: The Solo Family

When you’re working on a space, sometimes you need a fixture that disappears into the background but still delivers serious performance. That’s exactly what the Solo family from Precision by Luminii was built for—compact spotlights with carefully engineered optics, versatile mounting, and a ton of control. In this post we're going to walk through the basic performance of the Solo family. You can also watch our demo in the video below.

The Basics

The Solo Family is a family of accent fixtures modeled after MR and PAR lamp sizes. That's why you'll find Solo 8, 11, 16 and 20, they all can be mounting to line voltage or 48V track or they can be mounted as mono points. The lenses are interchangeable, and they can all take a least 2 accessories.

Solo 8 and Solo 11 - Small Form...Big Performance

The Solo 8 is a true “small-but-capable” spotlight. At just 1.38" in diameter, it’s tiny—easy to tuck away in tight details—but still puts out over 500 lumens at 6.7 watts. With a 17° beam, you’re looking at roughly 3,700 candela peak intensity, and the optics are field-changeable (17°, 24°, 35°, 50°). It’s the kind of tool that works well when you need accent lighting that doesn’t call attention to the hardware.

The Solo 11 takes that same concept and scales it up slightly. At 1.77" in diameter, it delivers about 850 lumens on just under 10 watts. Peak intensity is over 5,400 candela at 19°. Like the 8, it gives you swappable optics and the ability to add accessories—lenses, louvers—so you can tune the beam in the field without replacing the fixture.

Solo 16 – Tight Beams, Big Punch

For projects that call for precision beams, the Solo 16 has some serious reach. You can get as tight as , with peak intensities over 28,000 candela. That’s coming from a fixture just 2.6" in diameter running under 10 watts. Even at its widest setting (50°), you’re still getting clean distribution and useful output around 600 lumens. It’s the kind of option you’d reach for in retail highlights or galleries, where you want light exactly where you put it—and nowhere else.

Solo 20 – The Workhorse Platform

The Solo 20 is where the family opens up into a full platform. It’s a little over 3" in diameter and designed to give you options depending on what the project needs:

  • Intense engine: ultra-narrow beams (as tight as 6°) with peak intensities up to 71,000 candela.

  • Plus engine: excellent color rendering (CRI 98, R9 >90) with outputs in the 3,000 lumen range.

  • High Efficiency engine: best choice when efficacy matters most, with numbers pushing 117 lm/W.

Why Designers Keep Coming Back to Solo

  • Precision optics you can swap in the field.

  • Full control compatibility: 0-10V, DALI, Casambi, or simple onboard dimming.

  • Finishes that range from minimalist white or black to brushed aluminum, rubbed bronze, or brass.

  • Longevity & sustainability baked in: modular, serviceable, recyclable design across the family.

  • Warm Dimming and Tunable White Options throughout the line.
